Benefits Of Natural Body Wash

Education Health

It may seem like a trend, but using natural and organic skin is more beneficial to your skin, hair,  your overall health and the environment. The products we use on our skin are absorbed into our bodies. Some ingredients used in commercial and mass produced soaps are harsh and are manufactured to not break down and prolong shelf life. These ingredients have been shown to cause issues to our  skin, body, and overall health.

When we decide to focus on our overall health, we usually start with what we eat. We decided to eat cleaner, cut out bad foods and add exercise to our daily life. Your body is no different. Synthetic ingredients have been shown to cause many health issues by being absorbed into the blood stream.

Things to avoid

Sodium lauryl sulfate is often found in shampoo and body wash, but studies have shown that it can lead to skin irritation by disrupting your natural skin barrier.

Parabens are another synthetic chemical to avoid. They mimic estrogen, according to the FDA, and are found in many moisturizers, shampoos, shaving gels, and more. According to Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, parabens can cause excess or abnormal breast cell growth.

Synthetic fragrances are found in nearly every skincare product.  According to federal law, companies do not need to disclose the chemicals in their fragrance mixtures. Allergens and hormone disruptors are often among the list of chemicals.
